Entries for the Bedford Documentary Film Festival are submitted through FilmFreeway, the online submission platform used by film festivals around the world.

Using FilmFreeway allows filmmakers to submit their documentary, provide all the information we need about their film and keep track of their submission in one place.

Entries for 2026

Entries for the 2026 Bedford Documentary Film Festival is now closed.

This year’s festival takes place on Saturday 10th October 2026 at the Bunyan Meeting, Mill Street, Bedford.

If you have submitted a documentary this year, thank you for choosing the Bedford Documentary Film Festival and for trusting us with your work. We look forward to watching this year’s entries and selecting the documentaries that will be screened at the festival.

Want to Enter in 2027?

If you missed this year’s deadline, don’t worry — the Bedford Documentary Film Festival will return in 2027.

Our 2027 opening date will be announced in January.

When submissions open, you will once again be able to enter your documentary through FilmFreeway.

We welcome documentaries from independent filmmakers, established filmmakers and students, and we look forward to discovering another year of great documentary filmmaking.
